Chester-le-Street Methodist church commits to raise £2000 (hence Project 2000) for a charity, by undertaking a variety of fund raising activities during the year. The charities alternate between UK based charities and overseas charities.

Over the years many charities have been supported, however at present money is being raised to provide a new children’s home in Lert Sa Wat in Thailand. The first children were able to move in to the home in April of this year and in July the first 15 children started in the new nursery.
