Chester-le-Street Methodist church commits to raise £2000 (hence Project 2000) for a charity, by undertaking a variety of fund raising activities during the year. The charities alternate between UK based charities and overseas charities.

Over the years many charities have been supported. Some notable projects have been;

provision of a new children’s home in Lert Sa Wat in Thailand.

funding for research into Muscular Dystrophy
