So why Coffee Mornings?.......    Well it’s a social thing really.  Meeting together with friends and strangers, chatting in a way that’s difficult to do in a coffee shop and knowing any profit goes to a good cause.  It’s also enjoying a cup of tea or coffee supplied at a fair price and served (we hope) with a smile.  Usually scones and cakes are also available - almost all home made.

Our Monday coffee shop is run by Empower as a training facility for their young people with learning difficulties.  Tuesday mornings are available to registered charities and small Churches raising funds for their own causes.  Friday coffee mornings are for fund raising for our own needs.  Saturday coffee is provided by various Church organisations or (on request) for special fund raising.  In all cases the facilities are provided free by this Church but a small donation to cover heating and lighting etc. is gratefully received.

Many years ago we decided that only Fair Trade tea, coffee and sugar would be served here.  We are very proud to say that, where we led, Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury and many others have followed!

We believe we are providing something special here and not in competition with local traders.  If you would like to help us in this valuable service to the public we would be delighted if you felt able to join our teams of volunteers.
