There have been two
recent noteworthy events
Anchor Fun
Morning. On 29th January we held
an Anchor Fun Morning
at Chester-le-Street on behalf of the East Durham Battalion. The theme was
‘Jonah and the Whale’ and included crafts, puzzles, drama, games and food
(essential for BB events involving Anchor Boys!). Deaconess Anne Eccles
came and helped enact a drama on the story of Jonah and showed the
children how to make story-boxes. Three Companies took part, 1st
Chester-le-Street 1st Whitburn and 1st Newton Hall.

Presentation of President's Badge
on 13th February:;
this award, the second highest award in the BB was presented to three of
the Senior members, Daniel Miller, Jack Rowell and Christopher Winn.
The presentations were made at the
Church Parade by Mrs Mary Elliott. Mary has been one of the
Company's Presidents, and her husband, Jack, was one of the original
Officers when the Company was founded in 1952. As the Company have just
reverted to their original title of 1st Chester-le-Street, it was fitting
that Mary present the first President Badges under the new name.
